Rick Rieder is the Managing Director and Chief Investment Officer of Fundamental Fixed Income at BlackRock, a global investment management corporation in New York City. Rieder has accomplished a lot in his career and was a 2013 inductee into the Fixed Income Analysts Society Hall of Fame.
Prior to joining BlackRock, Rieder was the President and CEO of R3 Capital Partners, a company BlackRock acquired in 2009. Rieder has served as the Vice Chairman and member of the Borrowing Committee for the U.S. Treasury. From 1987 to 2008, Rieder worked with Lehman Brothers, a global financial services firm that went under during the subprime mortgage crisis in 2008. While at Lehman Brothers, Rick was the head of the Global Principal Strategies team.
Rieder earned his Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Emory University. Following his time at Emory, Rieder then went on to attend The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Rieder received his Master of Business Administration from Wharton.
